Wendi Rene Jenkins, age 58 of Osawatomie, Kansas, died Monday November 18, 2019 at Life Care Center of Osawatomie after a long illness.

Wendi was born July 6, 1961 in Pratt, Kansas. She was the eldest of three daughters born to Dennis & Patricia (Wilt) Hodgkinson. She grew up in the Osawatomie area where she attended school and graduated with the Osawatomie High School Class of 1979.

After high school, Wendi was trained in medical laboratory skills and went to work at the Osawatomie State Hospital where she later worked as a License Mental Health Tech as well. Over the years she had various other jobs most of which involved helping people.

Wendi loved reading. Her favorite author was Stephen King. She had a dark sense of humor and loved the Renaissance era and all things medieval. Wendi has been a cat lover her whole life. She always owned her own cats and was passionate about feeding and helping the local stray cats.

Survivors include her son Aric (Jennifer Edie) Copperwood of Osawatomie, parents Dennis Hodgkinson and Patricia Hodgkinson of Osawatomie, Sisters, Lori (Jim) Ferraro of Pittsburg, Kansas and Tammi (Dan) Giakowski of Osawatomie, Kansas, along with several nephews, nieces, and other family and friends.
